Johnny Hendricks is one of the best welterweight fighters in the UFC.

When it comes to fighters that flew under the radar in the Ultimate Fighting Championship, Johnny Hendricks’ name was at the top of the list. Despite having a spectacular record with only a single loss, it wasn’t until he knocked out perennial top welterweight contender Jon Fitch that the fans and the UFC began to take notice. Hendricks is an all-around threat that will be task for any fighter in the UFC welterweight division to beat. The southpaw has great power behind his punches and was a former NCAA Division I wrestler at Oklahoma State.

Hendricks is primed to compete for the UFC welterweight title and could have the best chance to taking the title away from Georges St-Pierre, but until then, what are the biggest wins of his career?

  • UFC 141: vs. Jon Fitch

Heading into this fight, all the talk was about who would be able to outwrestle the other. Both Fitch and Hendricks are world class wrestlers, but instead of the fight coming down to the grappling game, it was a punch from Hendricks just 12 seconds into the fight that got the attention of the world. That knockout is what began Fitch’s fall in the UFC that eventually led to his release in early 2013.

  • UFC 154: vs. Martin Kampmann

Kampmann is a fighter that always seems to be a win or two away from competing for the UFC welterweight title, but continually struggles to get to that point. Just 46 seconds into their fight in November 2012, Kampmann would again suffer a brutal defeat via knockout.

  • UFC 158: vs. Carlos Condit

In what turned out to be the Fight of the Night at this event, Hendricks picked up the unanimous decision victory against Condit. With the impressive win, Hendricks improved his career record to 15-1 and immediately threw his name in the hat as the next opponent for GSP.
